Set up the HiPeople integration
Create a Harvest API key
You’ll need to create a Harvest API key.
Follow the steps in the provided link or in this article to create the key, and verify that the permissions below are selected when configuring the HiPeople integration.
Credentials
In the Create New Credential box, make the following selections:
API Type: Harvest
Partner: HiPeople (optional)
Description: HiPeople Harvest API key
Make sure you copy the API key generated and save it to use at HiPeople.
Permissions
Verify that the following permissions are selected for the HiPeople integration:
Candidates
Get: Retrieve Candidate
Applications
Get: Retrieve Application
POST: Add Attachment to Application
Jobs
Get: Get hiring team
Users
Get: Retrieve User
Get: List Users
When you’re finished, click Save.
Your Harvest API key for the HiPeople integration is created and configured. Copy the API key to provide to HiPeople in the next step.
Add your API key to HiPeople
To add your created API key credentials and follow the connection flow, navigate to HiPeople and Log In. Click on your logo on the top left, and then Settings. Locate the Integrations option on the list on the left.
On the Integrations page, locate and click Greenhouse under the Send from ATS (Push Integration) category.
You'll be guided to the Kombo Connect integration flow. First, click Continue.
Add your Harvest API key to your integration link, and click Continue again.
You'll be prompted to see the API key permissions needed, which you have already configured, so you can click Continue once more.
Next, you will set an audit log user. You will add a user email who has access to Greenhouse, and the user needs to have Site Admin permissions in Greenhouse to add attachments to the application.
You will need to provide your subdomain URL to HiPeople for this integration. Your subdomain URL is located at the top of the Greenhouse application and is noted by the word app followed by a number and greenhouse.io.
In the screenshot, app3.greenhouse.io is the subdomain URL. You'd need to add this to the integration link that was provided by HiPeople.
After you add your subdomain URL, HiPeople will provide an API key that you'll need to send to Greenhouse support. Make sure that you store this API Key in a safe place, and then you can click Set up integration.
Once your setup is complete, contact Greenhouse Support and request a secure link to send your API key. Do not send this API key in the initial message.
Add the HiPeople Send stage to your jobs in Greenhouse
After your integration is set up with Greenhouse support, follow the steps in this article to add the HiPeople stage to your interview plans. This stage can be used for either an Assessment or a Reference Check, depending on which HiPeople's product you use.
Once you’ve set up your interview plans and configured this stage to be part of your hiring process, you’ll be able to send the Assessment or Reference Check to candidates.
Use the HiPeople integration
You can send an Assessment or Reference Check to a candidate by moving the candidate to the HiPeople Send stage, and then clicking Send test to candidate.
You will then select what Assessment or Reference Check template you want to send to the candidate, who will grade it once the submission is complete, and then hit Send test.
Note:
When you send a test in Greenhouse Recruiting, the instructions are actually sent by HiPeople.
After it has been sent, the Assessment or Reference Check status will display in Greenhouse Recruiting.
Once the candidate has submitted their Assessment, or all the steps have been completed for the Reference Check, the Interview Kit will contain a link to view the submitted test in the HiPeople application.
To see a candidate’s results in HiPeople, click View Report. Here you will be able to navigate between your Assessment or Reference Check results.
The HiPeople link will always be available on the HiPeople Send Stage in your job plan, in case you or other members of the hiring team need to view it.
Note:
For Reference Checks, once all references have been completed, the report will be automatically attached in the Documents section of the candidate's application.
