Migrating Greenhouse Harvest v1/v2 to v3

How to migrate your current v1/v2 Greenhouse Pull integration to the Harvest v3 version

Create the Harvest V3 (OAuth) credentials

  1. In Greenhouse, click Configure.
    ​

  2. From the left navigation menu, click Dev Center.
    ​

  3. Go to API Credential Management.
    ​

  4. Click Create new API credentials.
    ​

  5. Set the following:

    • API type: Harvest V3 (OAuth)

    • Description: Give it a name, such as "HiPeople Pull Integration"

    Then click View and store credentials.
    ​


    A pop-up will appear showing your client key and client secret.

    Important: Copy both values and store them somewhere safe before proceeding. You will need them in the next steps.

  6. Once you have copied both credentials, click I have stored the client credentials.
    ​

  7. On the next screen, select all of the following permissions:

    • Auditlog

    • Applications

    • Attachments

    • Candidates

    • Custom fields

    • Email templates

    • Job interview stages

    • Job posts

    • Jobs

    • Offices

    • Rejection reasons

    • Notes

    • Sources

    • Referrers

    • Users

  8. Scroll to the bottom and click Save.

    Create an ISU for the integration

    Next, you will need a Greenhouse Recruiting user ID to authenticate the integration. You can either use an existing user or create a dedicated Integration System User (ISU) specifically for API requests.

    • To create a new ISU or check which ones you already have, follow these steps.

    • Then, to find the user ID of an existing user or your newly created ISU, follow these steps.

    Once you have your user ID ready, proceed to the next section.

Update the integration in HiPeople

  1. In HiPeople, click your name in the bottom left corner, then click Settings.
    ​

  2. Click Integrations from the left menu.
    ​

  3. Scroll down to the Automate in HiPeople (Pull Integration) section and locate the Greenhouse integration. You will see two boxes, one of which is your current integration marked with a Deprecated tag.
    ​

  4. Hover over the deprecated integration and click the Upgrade to V3 button that appears.
    ​

  5. A pop-up will appear asking for the following:

    • Client key and client secret (copied when creating the Harvest V3 credentials)

    • ISU user ID (obtained in the previous section)

  6. Once all three fields are filled in, click Set.

In the box that appears next, you would be prompted to create the webhooks for the integration. As those were already created when you set up the integration for the first time, you don't need to follow the steps again.


You're all set! Your Harvest version migration has been completed, and you can trigger a new sync to import new jobs and candidates from Greenhouse into HiPeople!
